3rd grade Math and Science

Welcome to my classroom, my name is Carol Muenich and I teach 3rd grade math and science at McQueeney Elementary.  I have taught in Seguin ISD since 2003.

 

I received my Bachelors of Science from Texas A&M University.  

 

My certifications include, EC-6 and GT.

A/B Rotation  Your student will be on an A/B rotation schedule.  Ms. Lawhorn and I are teaching partners for the A/B rotation schedule.   The students in my homeroom will have Math/Science with Mrs. Muenich on A days.  On B days Mrs. Muenich’s homeroom will have Reading/LA/SS with Ms. Lawhorn

Arrival/Announcements Students may arrive in the morning as early as 7:20.  Please have students report to the cafeteria if they need breakfast.  If students do not need breakfast, then they report to the gym  and line up behind his/her teacher name.  Students are asked to read AR books quietly during this time.

Lunch:  Lunch will be from 11:55-12:25. Caregivers are always invited to sign in at the office and eat with their students.

Parent Volunteers: If you are interested in volunteering at McQueeney (making copies and gathering supplies for teachers, setting up and helping at special events, etc.)  you can join our McQueeney Elementary SPVO! Ask your child’s teacher for an SPVO application. If you would like to volunteer on your child’s field trips, an approved background check must be completed and approved for you to attend.  Ask your child’s teacher for a parent volunteer form.  

McQueeney Pledge/Classroom Rules:

  1.  We will listen and follow directions.
  2. We will be nice to others.
  3. We will stay in our seats.
  4. We will keep our hands, feet, and objects to ourselves.
  5. We will raise our hands.
  6. We will stay on task.

Parent/Teacher Communication will include:

-Newsletters: Weekly Newsletters will be sent out each week. This newsletter will have important upcoming events, what we are learning in each subject for the week, homework assignments, and spelling words.

-Take Home/AR Folders: Your student will bring home a take home folder everyday.  This needs to be returned to school each morning. This is how all information and your child’s homework and completed work will go home to you.  AR Logs will also be kept in this folder.  I will check the AR log each morning for caregiver signatures. Reading Homework will be assigned on Reading Days and due back the next Reading Day.  Math Homework will be assigned on Math Nights and due back the next Math Day.

-Planners: Your student will be provided a planner from the school. Every morning your student will record their nightly homework, spelling words, and any important events. You may also write notes to me in their planner, I will check planners every morning for caregiver signatures/notes. I will also write notes to caregivers in planners as needed.
