**Students will be required to bring their 5th grade binders to school every day. These binders should have the student's planner, AR Log, and nightly homework. Parents, please be sure to sign your child's AR Log and planner on a nightly basis.

Students will have Math homework on almost a nightly basis, including occasionally on the weekend. I will not assign more than 10 problems per night. Due to the fact that we take our STAAR assessment earlier than the other grade levels (we test in March), our curriculum moves at a very fast pace. So, it is very important for your child to practice new skills that are introduced. If their is a family emergency, please send a note to school with your child so that they can have extra time to complete the work. If a student is out sick, he or she will be required to make up the missed work.

It is critical that your child is present at school every day. Please schedule dentist and doctor appointments after school hours.

Students MUST know their multiplication facts in order to be successful in 5th grade. If your child does not know their facts yet, please let me know, and I will be happy to send home a set a cards for practice.

**The deadline to know multiplication facts is November 1st.
