Welcome to the Jim Barnes Middle School Library! My name is Karen Sturm, and I am the librarian at JBMS. I have been at Barnes since the doors opened in 2004, and I have been with Seguin ISD since 1998. This is my 33rd year in education and I am always excited to introduce students to books! Go Toreadors!

JBMS students come to the library every 2 weeks with their reading classes and are expected to return or renew books. Once a month, the library provides lessons that coincide with their classroom reading lessons.

Students may check out up to 3 books at a time. Fines are assessed for lost or damaged books.

To help combat COVID, books are sanitized before being returned to the shelves.

READ IT FORWARD - Staff and students are reading the same book and passing it on for someone else to read. Look for 100 copies of Varian Johnson's The Great Greene Heist that are circulating throughout the school!
