JBMS Choir
All Middle School Choir courses concentrate on the development of note-reading skills, aural skills, rhythmic independence, intonation, and vocal tone production from a beginning to an advanced level. These ensembles have opportunities to participate in concerts for the school and community throughout the year, including opportunities to perform and compete in small groups and as individuals (formally and informally). Performances include fall, winter, and spring concerts, UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation, as well as various other performance opportunities in the school and community settings. Musical selections range from a variety of musical genres and time periods.
Program Highlights:
The Jim Barnes Middle School Fine Arts wing has been renovated over the 2025 summer to provide students with state of the arts technology and materials. As their new choir Director, Mr. Romero plans to provide students with more competition and performance opportunities to uplift JBMS choir musicians.
