  • FAFSA stands for Free Application for Student Aid.

Ready to start a FAFSA? You should create a FAFSA ID. Go to the Federal Student Aid website to create your ID.
Students, parents, and borrowers are required to use an FSA ID, made up of a username and password, to access certain U.S. Department of Education websites. Your FSA ID is used to confirm your identity when accessing your financial aid information and electronically signing your federal student aid documents.

Once you have your ID, Go to fafsa.ed.gov to begin an application.

    About the FAFSA:
To apply for federal student aid, such as federal grants, loans, and work-study, you need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Completing and submitting the FAFSA is free and it gives you access to the largest source of financial aid to pay for college or career school.

Many states and colleges use your FAFSA information to determine your eligibility for state and school aid, and some private financial aid providers may use your FAFSA information to determine whether you qualify for their aid.
